LLANDOVERY town councillors are considering a suggestion to set up a croquet club in the town.
In a letter, John Evans, of the Welsh Croquet Association, said a club could be set up on the town’s disused bowling green.
Cllr Edgar Jones lamented the demise of the bowling club and town mayor Jill Blud agreed.
Cllr Elizabeth Thomas described it as an “excellent”
proposal: “A lot of young people like croquet including my grandchildren.
Mind you, it’s quite a vicious game!”
Cllr Blud agreed croquet was not as “genteel” as bowls.
Cllr Dorothy Burgess pointed out Mr Evans had suggested the bowls green could be used for both bowls and croquet and it was agreed to pursue the matter.
