'PC Kev' swaps his beat for new role in schools liaison
AMMANFORD beat bobby Kevin Jones is about to beat a new path.
The popular PC is swapping his role as a community officer to work in Carmarthenshire schools.
The 43-year-old dad of two – who is known universally as “Pc Kev” – confirmed to the Guardian he was taking over the job of schools liaison officer in the near future.
“This is something I’ve thought about long and hard,” he said.
“I’ve decided it’s the right time to make such a move.
“Working with kids has always been one of my favourite aspects of this job – and now I’m going to work with them full-time.
“I will obviously miss the people I bump into on my regular walks through the town, but I’ll still be living locally so it’s not as if I’ll never see them again.”
