First published in News

DRIVING at 37mph in a 30 zone has landed an Ammanford motorist with a £250 court bill and three penalty points.

Gerard Murphy, 57, of Nant y Brithyl, Derwydd Road, was fined £175 by Carmarthen magistrates, with prosecution costs of £60 and a £15 victims’ surcharge.

He pleaded guilty.

An allegation that Murphy failed to identify the driver of his Mercedes C240 after it was booked for speeding in Llanwrtyd Wells on April 12 was withdrawn by the court.
