TWO local businesses are in the running to scoop ‘rural Oscars’.
Glanbrydan – the Cottage Bake-House in Cwmifor – and Lady of the Lake Lamb, based near Myddfai, have both been shortlisted as Welsh finalists in the 2012 Countryside Alliance Awards.
Glanbrydan is one of four firms named in the Best Local Food category, while Lady of the Lake Lamb has made a shortlist of three in the Best Start-Up section.
The Welsh winners of each category will also go forward to the UK and Ireland final.
The firms will attend a glittering reception at the Senedd in Cardiff Bay on January 30 to discover who has claimed each title.
The UK and Ireland finals are due to be held at Parliament in Westminster in March.
