CWMAMAN Town Council is to investigate the possibility of having bollards installed on the roadside outside Bryn Seion Chapel in Glanaman in a bid to halt motorists parking on the pavement.
“It is becoming dangerous,”
Councillor Emyr Jenkins told fellow members.
“People are too lazy to use the car park 100 yards away and are stopping on the pavement outside the chapel and blocking pedestrian access.
“It is impossible to get a pushchair or a wheelchair past.
“I have received a number of complaints from residents.”
Cllr Kevin Madge suggested the installation of bollards could be included in an environmental enhancement scheme which is set to revamp Glanaman Square in the new year.
“Perhaps we could group all of this together to improve the square and address the parking issue,” he said.
Meanwhile, Cllr David Jenkins said the issue of illegal parking should be raised with the police.
