Pontardawe spring festival

CONTINUING the award winning seasonal community festivals, Pontardawe Town will once again host the spring festival on Saturday, from 10am until 4pm outside the Arts Centre in the centre of town.

There will be food and craft stalls in the street, and live entertainment on the outdoor stage, including dance groups, singers and bands.

At noon the annual duck race will take place on the canal at Herbert Street. Back a numbered duck for just £1, and be in the running to win cash prizes up to £50! Watch them race to the finish line, and remember to choose a fast duck! You can place a bet on your duck at Pontardawe Post Office, or do it on the day at the canal in Herbert Street.

From 8.30pm on both Saturday and Sunday be sure not to miss the amazing and much-acclaimed No Fit State Circus with their outdoor performance of Barricade at the Pontardawe leisure centre fields.

These artists have been likened to Cirque du Soleil and their latest show is just as spectacular as their performance two years ago at the recreation ground.

It is a show like you’ve never seen before, and will be remembered for years to come. Trapeze, acrobats, fire performers and much more… all presented in the uniquely theatrical and musical style of NoFit State Circus. Tickets, on sale from the Arts Centre, are priced at £5 The live music continues in the local establishments around town until late in the evening. Live bands will be playing at the PontardaweInn, The Pink Geranium, and The Castle.

So come to Pontardawe this weekend and celebrate spring!
