Comedy and glitter in fantastical burlesque evening

9:00am Wednesday 18th April 2012

WELL known for their eclectic mix of comedy, neo and classical bills which feature top UK and world-renowned artistes, Bluestocking Lounge – Swansea and West Wales’ premier burlesque and alternative cabaret night – return to Carmarthen’s Lyric Theatre on Friday (April 20) with Tales Of The Unexpected, an exciting, comedic and glitter-fuelled nod to all things fantastical.

Wor l d - r e n owned Amelie Soleil, dubbed ‘Britain’s Tiniest Tease’ remains true to the term of variety artist, with her skills in fire manipulation, aerial trapeze, burlesque, juggling and jaw-dropping flexibility.

Also on the bill is New Orleans native Tuesday Laveau. Brought up on the Ohio River, famed for Mardi Gras and adorned with alligator teeth, Tabasco and Swamp Boogie rock ‘n’ roll, Tuesday comes from the rum-soaked streets of the French Quarter and has been wowing audiences on both sides of the Atlantic for six years; Tuesday Laveau is the Voodoo Queen of Burlesque!

Cardiff’s Sandy Sure is fast making a name for herself with her unique characters and striking costumes and Lilly Laudanum will be unleashing her inimitable blend of historical humour.

Grabbing the newbie slots are West Wales’ Oh! Carolina and Bluestocking School Of Burlesque ‘graduates’ Bella Bambina and Miss Primrose Proper.

Bluestocking are delighted to showcase all three rising talents on the Lyric stage.

As ever, Bristol’s naughty but nice Lily Belle, famous for her quick quips and cheeky chat, will be your hostess with the most-ess.

Please note that this is an over-18s event.

Tickets are available only through the Carmarthenshire Theatres box office: 0845 226 3510.
