THE legendary British pop rock blues hit makers of the 60s The Animals are to return after two previous sellout shows at the Civic Hall in Llandeilo on Saturday, March 24.

The band are returning from a popular European tour into Cardiff airport, so they can repeat the Welsh valley tour from 2007.

“We are in the twilight of our career, all at bus pass age now, so we look to play half as often as previous years.

“We need to stop travelling abroad so much, the enthusiastic crowds that keep us going but it’s tiring.

“We enjoyed the visit to Llandeilo in previous years, our agent lives here, so it’s a catch up time with him, and so enjoyable playing in the small intimate hall like the early days.” says founder and drummer John Steel.

The Animals were at the forefront of the Brit pop explosion of the 60s, breaking the American market and leading the way in musical domination for the British bands in that decade. House of The Rising Sun, I Gotta Get Out Of This Place and Don’t Let Me Be Misunderstood are a few of their many cherished tracks.

Carmarthenshire blues icon Pat Grover will also be on the bill with his boogie blues band The Hawks.
