WHY wait until Valentine’s Day for a romantic trip?
Couples in the mood for romance are being urged not to wait for Valentine’s Day but to celebrate St Dwynwen’s Day too.
The Welsh patron saint of love is celebrated each January 25 and Dinefwr plans to mark the day by encouraging couples to take a stroll along one of the National Trust estate’s romantic walks.
Events co-ordinator Anneliese Parsons said: “St Dwynwen is the Welsh patron saint of lovers and there are a few versions of her story, but most agree that she asks for the hopes of true loves to be met.
“Her tale is one that I have been interested in since moving to Wales and St Dwynwen’s Day is something the National Trust Carmarthenshire thinks is very worth celebrating.
“This St Dwynwen’s Daywe are encouraging couples to come along to Dinefwr.
It’s the ideal place to stroll hand-inhand or have a cosy lunch by the fireplace in the tearoom.”
