12:01pm Friday 23rd May 2014

A unique and exclusive collection of contemporary jewellery will be showcased in Llandeilo throughout June.

A Floral Affair, an exhibition of cutting edge jewellery by Swansea-based designer Tanya Igic, will be showcased at the Mari Thomas Jewellery Gallery.

Originally from Serbia but now based in Swansea, Tanya works with delicate leather, combining it with sterling silver using an unusual layering technique to produce jewellery in bright, natural and pastel colours.

“Tanya is a jeweller with a very unique and individual technique, and her collection of elegant necklaces, earrings, bracelets, brooches, as well as bridal accessories is exquisite,” said Mari Thomas, who is also an award-winning design jeweller.

“Tanya produces a highly innovative and contemporary collection which involves a complex design and handcrafted process.

“Each piece is extremely labour intensive and the effect is truly exquisite.

“If you like jewellery you will love this collection. It would be perfect for a summer wedding, ball, prom or garden party and Tanya could even make pieces to match the colour of your outfit.”

Tanya’s collection is sold across Europe as well as the gallery in the Museum of Contemporary Art in Chicago.

Her latest exhibition opens at the Mari Thomas Gallery on Saturday, May 31, with a glass of fizz and chocolate covered strawberries for anyone who wants to pop in, it will then run until June 28.
