FOLLOWING their well-received mini concert tour in Carmarthenshire for Velindre Cancer Centre Fundraising, Towy Valley group The Meadows have been invited back to add another date at the Llansteffan Memorial Hall this Saturday (January 18).

It will be a family-friendly concert to bring some much-needed winter cheer into January, while raising vital funds for the Velindre Cancer Centre that is planning to expand into a world-leading facility right here in Wales.

It is already one of the largest cancer centres in the UK, faithfully serving people from all over the country, so it is hoped that enlarging the facility will enable them to significantly improve upon their life-saving work.

The Meadows are a family of young classically-trained multi-instrumentalist quartet who play a wide range of music. They have been drawing-in enthusiastic audiences of all ages, including a recent performance at the Wales Millennium Centre Glanfa Stage. Melody, a private music teacher and the eldest of the quartet, is due to play a classical recital at the WMC later this year, accompanied by Christopher Williams (BBC).

Tickets for the fund-raising concert are available from Llansteffan Village Stores and Post Office and James Music in Carmarthen. Adults are £7 and under 18s are £4. The ticket price includes light refreshments.
