THREE artists have banded together to exhibit their paintings under the title 'Earth, Fire, Water'.
Hilary Bryanston, Lynnford Jones and Tim Grant are from Pontardawe, Alltwen and Llandeilo respectively but their work is now on show to the public at the Andrew Lamont Gallery in the Theatr Brycheiniog, Brecon until Saturday, November 23.
Despite being good friends the work by the three artists is very different. Tim's artwork is full of dark humour and draws much inspiration from the American humourist James Thurber. Lynnford's paintings are fiercely expressionistic and influenced by the American Expressionist artists of the 1950s while Hilary's paintings have been described as 'nature mysticism' in origin. Her quartet of paintings entitled 'Harmonica Breathing ' were inspired by her prowess as a blues harmonica musician.
"This exhibition has been long overdue," said Hilary.
"I have long admired the work of both Tim and Lynnford and it has been a real pleasure and inspiration to finally exhibit my work alongside my talented fellow artists."
