TYPICAL. You wait for one Elvis Presley to come along and 50 arrive in two opentop buses...
Dubbed “the UK’s number- one Elvis impersonator”
by the Guardian newspaper, life for Paul Lillie can never be described as mundane.
However, as surreal moments go, performing along with dozens of other Presley look-alikes on the top deck of a sightseeing bus circling London’s Piccadilly Circus takes some beating.
“The televised publicity stunt was to promote the Elvisly Yours Competition – a national search for the UK’s best Elvis Presley performer organised by the Trocadero Centre,” said Paul.
“From where I was standing it looked pretty incredible.
Goodness knows what passers-by made of it.”
Paul went on to win the competition and nowstars in the theatre box office smash- hit showElvis is in the Building, which is coming to Swansea Grand Theatre.
