RISING Gorslas actress Gwenllian Ebenezer has landed a key role in an imaginative remake of Charles Dickens’ A Christmas Carol.
The 14-year-old Ysgol Tre- Gib schoolgirl plays Young Fanny in Talkwood Productions’ Ebenezer Scrooge at Port Talbot’s Princess Royal Theatre for four days next month.
Gwenllian, who attends Fame Factory Theatre School in Ammanford, already has many professional performing credits to her name including the UK tour of Chitty, Chitty, Bang, Bang, Joseph and The Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat (UK Tour) and Gari Tryfan, A’r Drych I’r Gorffenol for S4C.
Adapted from the classic novel, the production shows the transformation of an embittered, loveless Scrooge into a totally reformed character through the visitation of Marley’s ghost and the spirits of Christmas past, present and future.
“I find it really interesting because this adaption is so modern,” said Gwenllian.
“What makes it different is that Scrooge goes back in time where he meets his big sister, whom I play.”
Tickets are priced at £15, £8 for concessions, or £44 for a family and can be booked via www.princessroyaltheatre.
