A FESTIVE cabaret created by the young people of Mess Up The Mess Theatre Company hits Ammanford Miners Theatre this weekend.

Bibbidi Bobbidi Baubles will take to the stage on Saturday, December 16 and Sunday, December 17.

Over 50 young people have worked with writers and performers Llinos Mai and Dick Johns to create an evening of entertainments to get the audience in the festive spirit.

The plot follows Fairy land being in financial crisis.

Children are no longer interested in the stories and characters, opting instead for the contemporary characters; invisible Pokémon Go creatures, a massive film/book franchise based on a boy with ‘so called’ wizarding skills, and a bear in a duffle coat called Paddington who eats marmalade sandwiches.

Honestly, what do kids see in such things?! So parents have stopped reading their kids fairy tales at bedtimes which means they’ve also stopped buying them.

This means trouble for Fairy land. It has taken its toll on the inhabitant and money is tight.

Held at the Twix Club, Ammanford Miners Theatre, the cabaret has come out of necessity to bring some well needed income into Fairy land.

Expect the unexpected, fairy tales not quite how you remember them, familiar characters with contemporary twists, song, dance, magic and mayhem along the way.

The show on December 16 starts at 7.30pm and the December 17 performance begins at 2.30pm.
