A brand new show created by the young people of Mess Up The Mess Theatre Company in collaboration with the National Youth Arts Wales is heading on a tour across Wales.

Mess up the Mess theatre company have announced details of its forthcoming tour, Us Proclaimed: Clywch Ni, a bilingual play that will tour to four venues in South Wales during August and September.

The cast is made up of 25 young people from Ammanford and the surrounding area and the music is provided by lead singer of Sinami Ifan Davies and directed by Gethin Evans

Us Proclamed: Clywch Ni throws a spotlight on the unique identities, perspectives, passions and interests of young people growing up in Wales today.

Through music, comedy, poetry, drama and movement find out what makes this powerhouse of a young company tick.

Gethin Evans, director said; “The openness, generosity and positivity that this company of young people have shown every day has been a privilege to be around. The process has taken twists and turns to create an honest piece that explores the complexity of their lives within the world we live in.

"By smashing together different styles and forms, their high energy and wicked sense of humour takes over. I can’t wait for Welsh audiences to see what this unique young company have to share.”

To accompany the production, a series of musical workshops will be held in schools and with community groups, held by Musical Director, Chris Fossey. Workshops are free to groups to book to see the show.

Sarah Jones, Artistic Director of Mess Up The Mess said; “We’ve been researching and developing this project for a while now and it’s great to see it come together. It’s been a real pleasure working with Gethin, Aled a Ifan and seeing the young people develop during the project.

“It’s also great that we can offer these workshops which give a taste of the rehearsal process and teach some of the songs that appear in the show. If groups are interested, please contact us.”
