Following on from two successful pop-up events, the masterminds behind Swansea’s newest pop-up venue, Unit Nineteen, have announced that they will be holding a follow-up Street Food event on Friday, June 9.

Featuring gastro delights including Dusty Knuckle and Gower Seafood Hut, the event will be bigger and better with even more food offerings and live music.

From artisan burgers and Persian delicacies to vegan slices and gluten free pies, there’s something for everyone at Street Food Friday.

The foodie line-up includes Bwydiful (artisan burgers), Gower Seafood Hut (fishy delights such as calamari & hot fresh seafood), Babita’s Spice (North Indian curries and bites)

Mr Croquewich (grilled cheese sandwiches), Taste of Persia (falafel wraps, Persian food & baklava), Naturally Kind Food (vegan desserts, slices and cakes), Dusty Knuckle Pizza (Neopolitan wood fired pizza experts), Ele’s Little Kitchen (Mediterranean flavours including paella and tapas) and Gluten Free Uprising (gluten free treats including shortcrust pies).

It’s not just about the food, the event will also boast a pop-up bar selling ale from Untapped Brewery in Usk as well as wine, prosecco and cider supplied by Swansea wine merchant ND John. All of the drinks served at Friday’s event are suitable for Vegans.

In addition to Street Food Friday, Unit Nineteen recently hosted an indoor pop-up park in collaboration with Natural Resources Wales. The initiative featured yoga classes, children’s play sessions and a conference on developing more green Infrastructure in Swansea.

Ben Reynolds, director of Urban Foundry, the creative agency behind Unit Nineteen and Street Food Friday, said, “We have been overwhelmed by the reaction and support we received for our first street food events so we are really pleased that this Friday’s event has grown and will hopefully be our best one yet.

“We want to show how some of Swansea’s hidden spaces and venues can be used for an alternative purpose using a social enterprising approach. In Unit Nineteen’s case, we have taken an old nightclub and welcomed a completely different crowd to Little Wind Street. Keep your eyes peeled for future events by visiting the Unit Nineteen Facebook page”.

Street Food Friday is supported by Swansea BID and City & County of Swansea as part of their drive to promote Swansea’s early evening economy.

Street Food takes place Friday, June 9 from 5pm until 9:30pm at Unit Nineteen, 19 Little Wind Street, Swansea SA1 1EE.
