AN evening of entertainment is taking place at a church in Ammanford this weekend to mark a landmark anniversary of a local group.
Ammanford District and Choral Society are hosting a century concert at All Saints Church, Ammanford on Saturday, May 13 at 7pm.
The choir’s early history from 1917 is somewhat fragmented, as the choir was disbanded during the 1930s, not reforming until 1948.
But the group have a more complete history from 1947, thanks to the detective work of society choir member Olwen Richards.
Artists performing at the event include professional soprano Rebecca Evans and Ammanford Silver Band.
Admissions by ticket costs £12 per person.
Tickets are available from choir members or at the door on the evening.
