CARMARTHENSHIRE Tourism Association is celebrating its 20th anniversary this year, having supported the county’s tourism and hospitality industry since 1996. And to mark this important milestone, a gala party event is taking place tonight, Thursday, September 29.

Being held at the Corran Resort & Spa in Laugharne, guests will enjoy a welcome drink, 3-course meal – and be entertained by 50s and 60s cover band, Rocket Joe Joe & The Old Time Bangers. A few extra surprises are also promised for the evening!

Nia Ball, Chief Executive of the CTA explains, “The tourism industry is such an important one for our county’s economy - and this party is a chance, not only to celebrate our ‘Birthday’, but also to celebrate the industry as a whole. So many people work so hard to ensure that Carmarthenshire continues to grow as a quality visitor destination and this is a chance for everyone to take some time out of their business and enjoy themselves! Anyone involved in the tourism industry – whether directly or indirectly – are welcomed along. It will be a fun and informal evening, so it’s a great opportunity to catch up with old friends and colleagues, and to make new contacts.”

The Carmarthenshire Tourism Association has the aim of supporting and developing tourism in Carmarthenshire - with a clear focus to provide high quality and relevant business support to the County's tourism and hospitality trade. Established in 1996 by a small group of local tourism business owners - today, they have some 250 members from businesses from all types and sizes. An independent, not-for-profit company the CTA has a small employed team, led by a group of voluntary directors elected from the membership base - making the CTA an organisation which is truly 'led by the trade, for the trade'.
