SWANSEA Grand Theatre’s Jack and the Beanstalk pantomime has “bean” hailed a giant success.

Audiences have flocked in their thousands to see the record breaking panto, which starred Louie Spence, local funny man Kev Johns, Swansea’s Zoe George and Stefan Pejic and comedian Peter Piper.

Ticket sales have outstripped previous years and patrons’ responses have been overwhelmingly positive.

The Theatre’s Facebook page sparkled with praise with audiences stating that " …this year’s panto has been one of the best I have seen in a long time," and that it was “the best pantomime I've ever seen.”

Others comments included: “Fantastic! Really enjoyed, thank you,” and “went Christmas Eve and loved it.”

Local insurance company, Admiral, have supported Swansea Grand Theatre’s pantomimes for several years and Ceri Assiratti, Admiral’s People Services Manager said: “We were delighted to support Swansea Grand Theatre’s pantomime again this year.

“Many of our staff and their children went to watch Jack and the Beanstalk and really enjoyed the show. Congratulations to everyone involved in the production of this spectacular show.”

As well as the cast making thousands of people laugh, boo, holler and hiss, thousands of treats were purchased, including over 11,500 tubs of ice cream, 4000 bottles of fizzy drinks and water and 2500 cartons of popcorn.

Flashing wands proved to an incredibly popular merchandise item with more than 3000 being sold.
