PANTO stars don’t get more glamorous then Louie Spence and the high-kicking super confident TV star is guaranteeing to bring glitz and sparkle to this years’ Swansea Grand Theatre production.

The star, who shot to fame following his role in Sky1’s documentary Pineapple Dance Studios, heads the cast of Jack and the Beanstalk.

And no, he’s not Jack, or the giant- Louie has a unique new role of his own-as The Spirit of the Beans.

With the promise of comedy, massive special effects and of course all the quality family fun, The Grand’s panto have come to be known for, Louie is also going to bring his own special brand of sparkle- and outrageous fun- to the stage.

Louie is no stranger to the stage, or too audiences.

He started his career young and went on to appear alongside some of the UK’s biggest acts such as the Spice Girls and Take That, long before Sky 1 brought his personality to the TV.

And it’s personality that he’s bringing to Jack and The Beanstalk- in spades.

“Well as you can imagine, as I’m The Spirit of the Beans, you can expect high kicks, lots of spins and lots of innuendo,” Louie quips.

“I can promise glitz, glamour, sparkle and a lot of high kicks and the great thing is, it will be different for everyone every day because of the audience interaction and that’s what’s special about panto to me.

“It’s a great cast and show and just great fun, a brilliant family show with something for everyone.”

He adds: “There’ll be something for the adults, something for the children and just a fun energy filled Christmas spectacular. I know that’s what you expect, but I always give a little extra so it will be like panto you’ve never seen before- make sure you come along!”

And as full as beans Louie can seem, he certainly doesn’t take preparation lightly.

“It’s intense and hard work,” explains Louie about the rehearsals and preparations for his role. “We rehearse for two weeks and then open.

“But it’s good bonding with the cast and getting to know them. Panto is really hard work but it’s really rewarding because the audience love it so much.”

Has Louie resisted the urge to make some tweaks to his role?

“Well, I have made The Spirit of the Beans a little more me. If I can make few changes to make me look better than I will,” he laughs.

Jack and the Beanstalk is at Swansea Grand Theatre from December 11 to January 10.
