It’s antiques time again at the National Botanic Garden of Wales on Saturday and Sunday October 3-4.

Fans of collectibles, curios and classic should make their way to the various Botanic Garden venues – including the Lord Foster-designed Great Glasshouse - for displays of Welsh art and pottery, quality jewellery and 17th century Welsh oak – and all this for a knock-down admission price of just £4.

Organiser Brita Rogers, of Derwen Fairs, said: “The fair has proved to be a recipe for success, increasing in size to over 60 inside stands and many more outside. Demand is high so our Botanic Gardens series of fairs now includes an extra date in April making three fairs a year.”

As well as stalls in the Great Glasshouse, there are plenty of tempting offers to be had in Principality House (the old servants’ quarters), the Garden marquee (for period oak furniture and rare books) and Theatr Botanica.

Brita explained: “The fair will be showcasing Welsh areas of collecting including Welsh pottery, Welsh art and furniture. Richard Bebb will be displaying a rich array of Welsh paintings including artists such as Kyffin Williams.

“Welsh textiles will also be a main feature at the fair. There will be a huge range of welsh tapestry blankets on display with their extensive colour range and intrinsic patterns.”

She added: “ I am sure collectors will find the impressive 60+ stands, showing off a variety of themes from ancient Chinese to the retro 60s and country farmhouse, to be very appealing. There is also gorgeous Victorian linen, vintage clothes, fans and costume jewellery, and an appealing display of nostalgic interior designs; plus fishing reels, militaria and collections of Moorcroft and Lorna Bailey pottery.”

The Garden is open from 10am to 6pm with last entry at 5pm.

Admission to the Garden for Antiques Weekend is £4. Entry is free for Garden members and parking is free for all.
