A LLANDYBIE social club, The Mix, which supports children and adults with learning difficulties and autism spectrum disorder is set to hold a Black Tie fundraising ball.

The event, due to be held at the Mountain Gate Tycroes, on Saturday, June 6, will be a night to remember with a drinks reception, three course meal and live entertainment.

One of the event organisers, Tyler Payne, said: “I would encourage anyone to come along to the evening. It will be great fun and it will also be a chance for the community to show their support for our club and raise some much-needed funds.

“There will also be a raffle and lots of prizes on offer.”

The club currently receives no financial support and service users pay a £3 weekly subscription fee, which goes towards the cost of hiring a room and equipment.

Julia Cox and club secretary Gary Payne’s aim is to provide members with short-break facilities for people aged 14-30 with learning difficulties, and give young people and family members a chance to become peer mentors within their school, college, youth club and community.

For further information about the Black Tie event contact the Mountain Gate Hotel on 01269 595199. Tickets are available for £35 per person with the evening starting at 7pm until late.
