ONE of Britain’s most successful pop groups Blue has been announced as the live music act on Ladies Night at Ffos Las Racecourse on 23 May.

Ladies Night is already one of the biggest events in Carmarthenshire’s social calendar. The racecourse recently teamed up with the popular Trimsaran Rugby Club Sevens Tournament on Saturday and Sunday to make it an even bigger weekend of sport.

The introduction of Blue into the event’s programme adds another layer of excitement to the event.

14 years together and 16 million albums sold worldwide, the future has never looked brighter for Blue. Lee Ryan, Antony Costa, Duncan James and Simon Webbe catapulted to fame in 2001 with their Top 5 single ‘All Rise’. The affable quartet quickly ascended to the top of the charts with three #1 albums, scored highly respectable collaborations with Elton John and Stevie Wonder, and even represented the UK in 2011 at the Eurovision Song Contest.

“Our aim is to make Ladies Night an event that will attract local visitors and tourists to both the racecourse and Carmarthenshire.

"We are really looking forward to a great weekend of entertainment.

"We hope the addition of Blue to the programme will attract many more visitors to the area for the Whitsun Bank Holiday.” said Dave Clayton, Commercial Director.

Gates open for the Johnathan Davies Youth Sevens at 11am on Saturday and will close on Sunday afternoon following the Senior Sevens rugby tournament. The gates open for Ladies Night at 3.50 on Saturday 23 May. The first race is at 5.50. Blue will perform from 9.30pm.
